Thank you Kate. In a weird way, it is gratifying to know that I am not alone in my presentation ups and less-ups! (I am careful with the word “down”). It is true that I have gotten in my own way, but this recent awareness has expanded my understanding of this tendency and has opened me up for all future possibilities. I appreciate that you shared your personal experience. It’s true — passion will lead us to be our best self.

Great post. I’ve been at that spot, too — making all the excuses for why I couldn’t do something. Fear is forever the deterrent from speaking — when most of the time, our passion for a subject already provides us with the what we need to say — it’s merely a matter of making it fit the audience.

Glad to hear the event went well with Sally Edwards.
