Heart – Mind Connection: A Mindfulness Symposium

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Center is hosting a free community heart-health symposium, the theme of which is Mindfulness. I have the honor and pleasure of joining Dr. Marty Cottler as a speaker at this event to share the benefits and how-to’s of integrating mindfulness into daily practice.

Dr. Cottler will speak about Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and I will discuss Mindful Meals — two relevant and healthful topics! Local health related businesses will have demo and display booths there as well.

Seating will be limited, please RSVP to 274-6124 to reserve your spot.

Robin has made me want to do more for myself…

“When I began to work with Robin as a client, she immediately recognized that my success involved more than treating issues relating to my heart. Her knowledge and caring has given me the opportunity and confidence to improve my overall health and mental outlook for the future. I have received excellent care from many doctors but what may be more important is that Robin has made me want to do more for myself.

As Hospital Administrator, I have witnessed firsthand Robin’s commitment to her clients …

“As Hospital Administrator, I have witnessed firsthand Robin’s commitment to her clients as well as the health and wellbeing of everyone on our staff. In Robin’s role as the Cardiac Rehabilitation Manager, she has created a very efficient Cardiac Rehab Department, which is important to me as an Administrator. Our patients—Robin’s clients—have experienced Robin’s passion, drive, compassion and immense caring for their health and wellbeing.”
—Katherine A. Medeiros, President and CEO

"With you guiding me through the HeartMatters program, I was able to achieve a level of physical fitness that made regular and focused exercise feel more like a natural part of my day. I had slipped into a malaise that meant exercise could be ‘put aside’ for work or other important activities. Getting past this is a subtle but powerful accomplishment.

I really enjoyed playing and exercising with you outdoors (my preferred MO for our time together). The joy you bring to your work is wonderful. This flexibility put a kind of structure into my day that helped me ‘choose’ again – showed me how to take back some control of my schedule for important things like meditation and exercise.  It was also part of my journey of re-learning how to say NO to things. This represents additional forward movement for me.

Thanks Robin – I have really benefited from your work in more ways than just the obvious fitter, leaner, stronger me."
