I am so intrigued by the brain's ability to adapt and reshape itself...when gratitude and quieting is practiced, the brain will lay down pathways to accommodate those thoughts/emotions; when the new pathways are tapped into over and over, by practicing, they then become the "default" direction of thinking and feeling. So you're right, Shawn -- the practice of gratitude creates familiarity in the brain and it does become easier...

The world could most definitely benefit from more gratitude! I'm so glad you point out that it's a practice, because the more I bring it forth, the easier it is to do. Thank you for the reminder! XO

Robin, this was informative. I pretty much use just olive oil now with some sesame and walnut oils on the side. Can you recommend the better olive oil brands or is it just wise to stick to any that are ogranic? Also I was recently informed that if you are cooking with olive oil for more than a few minutes it becomes altered and unhealthy. Any truth to that?

Thank you for this lovely note, Shawn. I felt so blessed by the experience that I didn't hesitate to share it. And yes, Grace was named intentionally, when she became ours as a rescue dog. xoxo

Robin, thank you for sharing such a delicious moment! What a sweet glimpse into your private thoughts of what makes you the kind, compassionate, supportive person that you are.

And I love that your dog's name is Grace. Makes me imagine that even if she's misbehaving, yelling her name must help you keep perspective.

XO

Your experience is one that I am familiar with also. It is somewhat comforting to know that someone else has the same feelings around their family as I do and have had. It always takes extra energy to become present in that situation. Exhausting for sure, but somehow takes me to the next level of knowing myself better. Thank you for sharing your insight.

Yes, Cathy! And so many words are thought or spoken simply out of habit; it is so liberating to allow oneself to become aware of certain words, when and how they are used, and the response they trigger - and it is from that place of awareness that letting go of those words is possible! Thank you for your response.
